Asphalt (sometimes called “liquid asphalt”, “asphalt cement” or “asphalt binder”), is a sticky, black and highly viscous liquid or semi-solid form of petroleum. It may be found in natural deposits or may be a refined product; it is a substance classed as a pitch. Asphalt occurs naturally in a few places in the world, but most of the asphalt used today for paving comes from petroleum crude oil. These slow curing (SC) products are durable and long lasting with excellent water shedding ability and erosion control. They can be applied to existing soils, base rock, recycled asphalt, etc. and used to rejuvenate previously oiled roads. Soil compaction and watering is recommended before application.
SC-250
Mixed with an approved solvent and designed for maximum soil penetration SC-250 is the lightest of our liquid asphalt lasting considerably longer than emulsions. SC-250 is recommended for first time application to provide a more stable road base.
SC-800
Designed for high traffic roads SC-800 has maximum durability and watershed ability and lasts much longer than SC-250. Though it takes longer to dry, this high-quality liquid asphalt is the best alternative to paving.
