RESERVOIR SEALING

Twisselman Clay (Calcium Bentonite)

The need of water may be important enough to justify the looking into sealing your Ponds, Reservoirs, and Canals to reduce the amount of water loss!  Water loss may be reduced by more than one method, but one of the most accessible methods, is the application of Calcium Bentonite Clay.

We are fortunate to have one of the best Calcium Bentonite Clay sources near enough to our farms and ranches to be an affordable solution.  The Twisselman Clay Mine is listed with the State of California as a source of Calcium Bentonite Clay.

The Calcium Bentonite Clay absorbs several times its own weight of water, and at saturation, swells to as much as 8 to 20 time its original volume, sealing the pond, reservoir or canal and reducing the water loss!

Application of the Twisselman Clay (Calcium Bentonite) is based on the soil type, but is uniformly applied at 10 lbs. per square foot and then thoroughly mixed with the soil to a depth of at least 2 to 4 inches.
